Stand unwavering in tribulations

30 janvier 2020

Preaching to the church on Sunday ; January 26, 2020, Ev. Charles Gahungu urged believers to stand steadfast in their tribulations by their hope in Christ alone.
This was derived in the Book of Job 1:1-3, 13 – 22 where the Bible describes Job’s behavior throughout various steps of life that he faced.
As a very wealthy man, he was used to feasting during festive seasons, giving sacrifices both for him and his children.

However, bad news came to him telling him that his servants were killed, the fire burned up the sheep and the servants, and “Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead…” Job 1:18-19
In this circumstance, Job’s answer was “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away ; may the name of the Lord be praised.”
And the Bible says that in all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.
Commenting on the scripture, Ev. Gahungu commented “No tribulation should make us doubt, leave or sin against God. The reason we get dismayed, is that we don’t choose to trust in God.

If we want to stand strong in such circumstances, we have to keep the Word God, as it builds us up and keep reminding ourselves that problems are to make, mold and mend us. When you overcome them, they become great testimonies to build others up. Even Jesus had to face the cross (the problems) to get us saved. Your problem now will be a great testimony to help someone else in the future, stand firm : don’t sin.” Said Ev. Gahungu.

Concluding the sermon Ev. Gahungu added "Tribulations make us, don’t you ever ask God why. Keep your trust in Him. In this case you will be ready and prepared to confront them."
